Threat Response Team

Threat Response Teams (TRTs) are common military units in certain corners of the Clarkwoods Literary Universe, but nowhere are they more prevalent than in the Edenian city of Kirbyville—the so-called “City of Heroes.”

Each TRT is comprised of 2–12 enhanced individuals trained to act as a rapid reaction force in case of emergencies. The unit is typically deployed in response to situations which no conventional military could realistically handle, though they are sometimes sent to areas of potential hostility to act as nothing more than a very colorful deterrent to war.

TRTs are usually transported by air, though some will include a teleporter in their ranks to make deployment even more efficient. But regardless of how they arrive at their destination, TRTs travel light. Most carry no weaponry at all. After all, they have super powers. They are the weapons.

Edenian TRTs have included the Vengeance Society, the Hex Men, and The Ruffians (pictured above). On Earth, during the six-hundred and sixty-eighth iteration of reality, Blood Red was a well-known example.

The Free Cities of Nunya are particularly fond of the unit, with much of their standing military force comprised of TRTs. After all, the Cities figure, why pay for the training and equipping of hundreds or thousands of grunts when you can just hire a few supes on a contract-by-contract basis?
