Action Make a Knowledge (Any) 3 check. If successful, you receive information about the item based on the type of Knowledge check you made. You may make each type of check once.
  • Life Sciences: To know more about the location of where the item was constructed, and general details about the species that crafted it.
  • Physical Sciences: To know more about the item's physical qualities, such as the material it is made from and the technical aspects of how it works.
  • Social Sciences: To decipher any writing on the item, the date of the item's creation, any relevance or values it held in a society.
  • Lore: Any significance held in legends and use/status in religion.
  • Warfare: If it has any history in military conflicts, use during conflicts and potential uses.


 

The Explorer counts the following skills as career skills: Astrogation , resilience , survival , piloting (planetary) , piloting (space) , choice: athletics or coordination , choice: stealth or ranged (heavy) , choice: knowledge (life sciences) or knowledge (physical sciences) or knowledge (social sciences) or knowledge (lore) . Before spending experience during character creation, a Explorer may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.
