Deathly Flowers part 6

To say that her father was not happy was an understatement. He was even less pleased when, just as few days before all the major leaders of the opposite sides of the continental war were to gather in the Alyssenne manor to discuss the new terms of the peace treaty—under the Alyssenne's gentle guidance this time thanks to Lady Arianie's son breaking the previous parley—she had the ballroom fully redesigned. She had the ground completely excavated down to a depth of a hundred of meters, before filling it with water and letting the flowers free to roam inside. The see-through crystal floor she had added on top was almost the last drop that made his anger and his magic flood the Estate.

But then the guests came in. They went into the ballroom, disparaged the flowers and insulted the Alyssennes. Magic rose to dangerous levels as everyone was getting ready to fight. And of course, the very fragile and newly installed floor did not survive the shock and instantly broke under the insolent lords and ladies. They had no time to react before they were falling into the water below and the flowers had latched onto them.

That reconciled Lord Alyssenne entirely to the idea of his new vegetal guests.

Nice! I was very nervous at the beginning, but I enjoyed the happy, if somewhat dark, ending. I did notice a few typos and inconsistencies, easy to fix, so I can look past them. Definitely going to read more about the characters and the plants now.

Lilliana Casper   I don't comment much, but I love reading your articles! Please check out my worlds, Jerde and Tread of Darkness.

And thanks for pointing out the typos, I didn't realise that there were that many left!

Good story. Needs a read through out loud to clean up but that is just housekeeping stuff.
