Claudia Pendragon
Claudia Pendragon was the final Queen of Promiseland before Frieda Jacobs’ unification of Wonderland in 263. A cold woman with a massive inferiority complex, she clung desperately to power until she was killed during the War of Western Aggression in 263.
Born to King Tristan and Queen Isolde in 238, Claudia grew up on heavily romanticized tales of her great grandfather and chafed at the notion that she was not related to the man by blood. Despite a preponderance of evidence, Claudia denied claims that she was a descendant of Lancelot and not Arthur. And it was this refusal to accept reality which ultimately led to her downfall.
Coerced by the deceitful Wizard of Oz into believing that cooperation with him would help her maintain Promiseland’s independence from Frieda’s burgeoning Wonderland movement, Claudia fell into the trap which would lead to her death. Used as a puppet by the despicable Wizard until the very last moment, Claudia met her death at the hands of the very man who had promised to keep her and her people safe. But to say more would be a spoiler for upcoming chapters of The Blood of Seven Queens.
