George II

George II, King of Yesterland, was the last king of that place before the ascension of Frieda Jacobs as Queen of Hearts. One of Frederick III’s many children, George was the only one to be legitimized. And yet, he proclaimed in his coronation speech in 253 that he was no better than any of his half-siblings—a proclamation which would eventually lead to his long lost niece’s creation of the United Kingdom of Wonderland.

Born George Baumgartner in 215, he was groomed to inherit his maternal grandfather’s apple orchard until he was recognized by his father in 229. After that, the fourteen-year-old George moved into the castle at Old Ludditon to learn statecraft from his dad. And it was while he was there, learning how to handle the kingdom’s financials, that George learned of just how many siblings he had—and just how varied their backgrounds were.

Once he came of age in 233 and gained control of his own finances, he began to make generous contributions to charitable causes throughout the seven kingdoms of the Edenian South—sending money wherever he could to the places where it would help his half-brothers and half-sisters to live a better life.

Then, in 238, when he caught wind of a new organization called the Sisterhood of Sex Workers, he became that foundation’s largest single donor. He knew that he had a sibling near the SSW’s headquarters in Watersmeet, though he had no idea—thanks to his father mysteriously scratching out the name of said sibling and said sibling’s mother in his records—that it was his half-sister Maeve Murphy who was running the whole SSW operation.

Later, when contacted by Charlotte Goose for information which might help her prove her granddaughter’s descent from George’s father, George was more than happy to oblige. He truly believed in what he said at his coronation, that he was no better than any of his siblings. And so, once Granny Goose was able to prove the connection—with a little help from the Cheshire Cat—George was the first to throw his support behind the young woman he had just learned to be his niece.
