Warin
System-lord Isabel Wild of Seahold was the younger sister of System-lord Wallis Wild. The two systems might have only been roughly 40 light years apart, and technically in different Sectors, but they were both major systems on the Northern Fabian Gateway Network.
“Welcome my lord,” The System-lord of Seahold said with a gentle smile. “Welcome back to Seahold, I hope you, and your crews will enjoy your stay here. Will it be longer than last time?”
Warin smiled at the older woman, but shook his head. “Thank you System-lord, but sadly no. A couple days for the crews to unwind, take on supplies, and trade before we continue home. It’s still just over two, and a half weeks of travel to get home, and thats not counting stops in Axe, or Bloom.”
The System-lord nodded, and waved her hand for Warin, and his followers to follower her. “Of course,” she said finally as they made their way through the familiar corridors of the estate as the lord led them to her grand estate. “My brother is well?”
“Yes lord,” Warin replied. “He speaks kindly of you. I am sorry I did not have time to visit you on Bastion during the wedding.”
The System-lord of Seahold smiled, but waved off the comment. “Understandable. I recall what it was to be an Under-lord,” she said fondly. “Me and my brother both served as Under-lord to our mother. My brother Under-lord of Dagport, and myself,” she said and waved her arms again, “Seahold, as I am sure you could have guessed,” she told him with a small chuckle. “It is a full time job, and it never ends, and I can recall my time on Bastion, and Daxholm busy with meetings, and meeting.”
Warin nodded. “It was a rather full schedule,” he agreed.
“It always is,” The System-lord said with another laugh. “But please, as my guest, at least try and enjoy yourself, at least tonight. You, and your wife,” she said and looked at Beth.
“Thank you lord, we will, Beth said meekly.
“Of course,” the System-lord said as they entered the hall. “I just ask one thing.”
“Yes?” Warin asked.
“Seahold is a peaceful place lord. The galaxy is a dangerous place, I know, but all I ask is that we keep those dangers from my home, and anything you have your people up to planet side, are discreet.”
Warin looked at the System-lord who starred at him with cool eyes, but a light smile. He nodded again, and he knew what she meant. She might have shared her brothers feelings on the Order, but she did not wish to pick a fight with them, and bright the same Chaos to Seahold or the Anchorage Sector. Nor did it seem, did she wish to talk about the Order as openly.
“Of course my lord,” Warin finally said. “We wish to cause no trouble, and will respect your home as though it were out own.”
“Thank you lord Ice, thank you,” Lord Isabel Wild said, and waved a hand at her high table. “Now join me, my chef has a feast for the ages planned.”
