Town's guard Gon

The bumpy cobblestone dug deep into Gon's tired feet, as he sprinted down the town's street. His chainmail and gambeson took their toll on his stamina, but he didn't slow down.

This fugitive had already slipped the guard's arrests too many times to give up this easily. But even though Gon was faster than the fugitive in full sprint, his constant turns into side streets kept the less agile Gon from catching up.

He had to try and cut the fugitive off before his own stamina truly ran out. When the fugitive took his next turn, Gon kept running straight, instead taking the following turn in the same direction as the fugitive had, hoping he would loop around and end up going towards Gon. But after Gon had taken the turn, there was no sign of the fugitive. Cursing, Gon sprinnted to the intersection the fugitive should have come through and frantically looked around. He caught a glimpse of the fugitive, as he disappeared in the crowd of the market that lay before Gon.

Following after the fugitive, Gon squeezed through the crowd, raising his head as high as he could to look over the crowd. A scream came from the side and Gon spun towards it, pressing further through the crowd. He came to a spot where the crowd had parted somewhat, and as the woman that had screamed explained to someone that she was startled, Gon spotted the fugitive at the other side of the crowd's clearing and called: "Town's guard! Make way!". The people before him parted, allowing Gon to race towards the fugitive, while the fugitive himself was delayed even more as the people in his way had stopped at Gon's call. As Gon closed in on the fugitive, he stretched out his hand and managed to grab the fugitive's shoulder, pulling him to a stop.

As Gon bound the fugitive's hands, his feet didn't feel tired anymore. And when the other guards that had been following after Gon finally arrived, still breathing heavily, Gon smiled at them satisfied.
