Winkie Country
Winkie Country is the westernmost division of land held by The Ninth Empire of Oz. Ruled by the The Witch of the West, this region is known for its vast forest and its carefully placed cities. The Winkies, more concerned with conservation than any of the other cultures in Oz, are careful to plant a new forest for every factory they build.
Called “steampunk” by Earthlings who visit the place, Winkie Country is actually a careful mix of the past and the future. There are more trees here than people—not by much, but always by at least a little. A yearly census guarantees that this statement is always true.
