Mab Bexkosh
Mab Bexkosh (Moldése: Thorn City) is a small fishing village on the Island of Pirates. Named for the briar patch which sprouted up around the cottage where Aesling O’Briar slept for 100 years, Mab Bexkosh was the capital of the Kingdom of Neverland before that government’s collapse in 175.
Geography
The village is located on the eastern shores of Mermaid’s Lagoon, near the spot where the Mol La empties into the bay. It is rocky and inhospitable, but the fishing here is fantastic and the lagoon provides a defensible deep-water harbor—so long as you stick to the narrow channel while coming in or going out, and so long as you pay your tribute to The Andersens at the start and end of each passage.
Architecture
The village is a collection of small cottages and larger community buildings built of stone, plaster, and timber. The one exception is Aesling’s Rest, the crude thatched-roof cabin which was built by Aesling O’Briar’s adoptive parents during their seclusion here in the First Age. It has been preserved just as it was when it was built.
Notable Landmarks
Aesling’s Rest is the oldest structure to be found here. The rest of the village was built in the Second Age by Ingvar Östenson and his compatriots, during the years Ingvar was in exile for the role he played in the Battle With The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.
Other landmarks include the Tavern at Sea’s End, where many a brew has been drunk and many a drunk has been sent packing, and the Beach of Trysts—a favorite for folks looking to make a love connection with the native merfolk.
